As we announced earlier this spring, the 23rd Annual TIVA Peer Awards are now closed for submissions! We were accepting entries exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform at http://www.filmfreeway.com/TIVAPeerAwards. This is a bit of a change for us, but will hopefully make the submission process cleaner and more consistent across the board. You can enter your project information once and use that to populate as many entries as you'd like to make. Just as in years past, you can either upload your project or link to an external site (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). And (while there are still some necessary steps to take) the submission system is much simpler.
By sending in your captivating cinematography, your jaw-dropping graphics, your editing chops, your awe-inspiring performance, the passion you infuse in every frame —you stand the chance of being recognized for excellence. If you submitted this year, you have chance to have your best work showcased and acknowledged by your peers in the local production community!
Since FilmFreeway is new to TIVA as an organization (though many of us have used it individually), we have put together a submission process walkthrough, along with a set of Frequently Asked Questions, available by clicking the button below:
This year we have greatly simplified submission fees. So while there are no longer discounts for subsequent entries, the overall fees are significantly reduced — hopefully lowering the bar to entry for many would-be participants who’ve balked at the fees in years past.
One other significant change this year is that the Peer Awards are moving to spring: This year's ceremony will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center. This will allow us to avoid conflicts with other end-of-year events, as well as enabling us to make all material produced in 2019 eligible for consideration. Moreover, one of the most consistent pieces of feedback we received was that there wasn't enough time to see all of the Gold-award-winning work recognized; to that end, we are introducing a festival-style showcase of Gold Award winners, which will follow on Monday, April 13, 2020 at AFI as well, So instead of a one-evening affair, the Peer Awards will be two-part extravaganza!
We are so excited to launch this year's TIVA Peer Awards, and look forward to seeing all of the fantastic work this region has to offer!
