Join the TIVA Board!

Serving on the TIVA Board is a fantastic way to give back to the community — not to mention making sure that your particular expertise will provide insight into areas that might otherwise be overlooked!

With that in mind, we are actuvely soliciting new TIVA Board members for 2020. Before we head full-swing into the end-of-year bustle, when it can be all too easy to let things slip by, we want to make sure we are staying on top of our critical work, ensuring the continuing leadership and growth of the organization. As we come out of several groundbreaking events, and head into an unprecedented presence at The Video Show (formerly the GV Expo) and our dramatically expanded Peer Awards, there is much to be excited about, and a lot of room to continue that excitement and enthusiasm as we move into the new year!

Board meetings take place once a month (historically on the second Tuesday), and (in addition to weighing in on larger Board decisions) individual Board members take on specialized roles to help keep the machinery of the organization moving. There are the primary officers, of course — President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer — but also several other critical roles:

  • Programming Chair/Co-Chair
  • Peer Award Chair/Co-Chair
  • Membership Chair
  • Marketing Chair
  • Communications Chair
  • Publications Chair
  • Business Partnership Coordinator
  • Sponsorship Chair/Co-Chair
  • Volunteer Chair
  • Website Update

TIVA's is a working Board (as opposed to purely an advisory one), so there is definitely a time commitment involved; Board members need to not only attend meetings, but work regularly with each other and the members to fulfill those functions listed above (as well as any others that may come up). And Board members are expected to attend as many TIVA events and activities as possible — though on the plus side, such attendance is free. In any case, it's a fantastic chance not only to help the community, but to increase your own visibility within it. Members of the Board are required to be TIVA members, but there are no requirements for minimum length of TIVA membership, or for any minimum level of experience within the industry — we welcome newcomers and veterans alike, not to mention members from any field wihtin the scope of the producion industry.

We'd like to have submissions in as soon as possible, so we can proceed with the annual election process before the year is out!

This is truly an exciting time for TIVA, and we look forward to working together to provide vital services to the local production community (and beyond)!
