Video and Motion Graphics Editor

 The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) seeks a Video and Motion Graphics Editor with a talent for visual storytelling and a love of science to join the Science Digital Media department.

Major duties and responsibilities:

 Assists in the creation of videos for Science Magazine

 Creates motion graphics to visualize scientific concepts

 Serves as an advocate for multimedia projects as editorial proposals as presented

 Pitches ideas for video and audio projects

Minimum qualifications:

 Extensive university or college-level training leading to a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science-related field

 Five years of relevant experience

 Expert-level skills in editing, motion graphics, and sound design for projects ranging from short video clips to highly produced multimedia packages

 Ability to complete projects quickly, accurately, and to the highest journalistic standards

 Fluent with current video software for editing (Adobe Premiere Pro CC), image manipulation, (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and motion graphics (AfterEffects)

 Keen interest in science ; demonstrated excellence in storytelling for web, audio, and video

 Excellent communication skills; ability to interface with internal and external researchers and editors

 Experience with Cinema4D is a plus
