Ross Stansfield, has in his 35 year career, been a studio stills photographer shooting for clients such as Coca Cola, Marriott, SAIC, American Woodmark, The VA, Regency Furniture, Ted Britt Ford, Vie De France, Odin Technologies and many others. The coffee table book " Alexandria a Pictorial History" was written by Karen Harvey and Ross supervised the acquisition of archival shots and shot the majority of new photos.
Ross has also been involved in motion picture production since 1990, as a Director, Producer, DP and Editor creating TV spots, commercial films , short films, music videos and a documentary on Raymond Loewy currently showing at the O. Winston Link Museum in Roanoke, Va. In 2009 he was the producer for Allied Media working on TV, Stills and Radio spot for the 2010 Census.
Recently Ross co-produced, shot and edited a PSA for APVote.org filming the Director Robert Rodriguez and also a film with Wandering Hat for the VA illustrating the construction of an interactive display using timelapse and HD video.
He recently lit 6 episodes of “Man at Arms Reforged” near Baltimore. A webseries about blacksmiths creating hybrid weapons…the first show “Batmans gauntlet with Wolverine Claws” has nearly 10 million views.
In 2012 he was the co-producer with Wandering Hat for a three camera shoot working with Forest Whitaker at the National Portrait Gallery, where twenty interviews were acquired during the “Black List” reception sponsored by AT&T.
He also coproduced and lit the web series “Hard Fix” with Rubacam productions.
In 2013 Ross working with Woodpile Studios shot two films for GMU for the Mason “Idea” honoring the inauguration of the new President of GMU Angel Cabreres.
2014 Ross was the DP and co-producer with Andy Harper on two spots for the vote-climate pac “Holy Bleep” with actors on location with one spot having the front yard on fire similar to California, the other with one actor lost to flooding similar to Florida.
In 2015 we shot four films for JMU promoting their MBA program.
In 2016 our team worked on films for the VA and DHS. Ross has also shot and lit films for Cancer Can Rock http://cancercanrock.org/
In 2017 Ross started filming for the Resisterhood Project at the first Women’s March.
This project continued for three years and included two more women’s marches and also Gun protests on Capital Hill and DC streets, interviews with the principals in the documentary in various locations, which Ross shot and lit with Cheryl Crim and sometimes other cinematographers.
In 2020 Ross filmed weekly interviews for Real Voices Media covering subjects on Covid 19, and the political scene including the election and the Post Office.
Films for “Cancer Can Rock” were filmed at 30 North Studio in Falls Church.
