It's a new year and the First Thursday's Program is back, and distribution methods are moving forward. What do professionals need to know now that any street corner can be a studio and on line collaboration means you can service a client in Singapore.  What are the techniques and pitfalls of this new communications technology?  What does it take to make a streaming feed valuable, and discoverable in the modern media landscape?

Find the answers to this and a lot more at this informative panel and demonstration.

Panelists will include Colin Sandy of Sandy Audio Visual   and Troy Hanford of Summit Webcasting.

The program will be aimed at producers and camera people who are interested in offering more services to their clients and anyone who wants to know about the future of live distribution. The meeting will be streamed live on our website, although obviously we want people to come in person to see the equipment. Some of the topics to be covered include:

 - Applications for streaming

 - Streaming from difficult locations

 - Multi platform streaming – being able to watch jitter free video on everything from a 3G phone to super high speed broad band

 - Designing and preparing content for best streaming

 - Compression, artifacts and getting it right

 - Different streaming platforms from the free to the very expensive, and how to choose the one that’s right for your application
