TIVA and WIFV are sponsoring a joint event on Wednesday, September 17 at the National Press Club to learn what filmmakers can do to minimize our carbon footprint and minimize waste.  Larry Engel, chair of an American University faculty committee that is creating a Documentary Filmmaker’s Code for Best Practices in Green Filmmaking. leads the panel. 

 The code is a joint effort of the Center for Social Media, founded and directed by Pat Aufderheide, and the Center For Environmental Filmmaking, founded and directed by Chris Palmer.
It is the first green guide for our industry to be reviewed by an advisory board of scientists and specialists. Copies of the new code will be made available free to attendees.
