Matthew Fredericks is an American film director, screenwriter and producer whose films are best known for their ability to translate brand messages and information in a distinctive visual and narrative style. He has produced award-winning commercials, branded content, short films, documentaries, news features, PSAs, marketing/PR projects, music videos; as well as animation/motion graphics, and social media content.
Matt has received three Emmys for Outstanding Direction (American University Wonks, 2012) Outstanding Commercial (All The Wonks are Talking, 2011) and Historical/Cultural Single News Production (JFK: Building Peace For All Time, 2013). This short documentary was featured on NBC’s, Meet the Press and won “Best Graduate Documentary” at the 2014 Visions Film Festival. Matt has also received a Webby Award (Targeted Marketing, 2011), two Silver Telly Awards and 31 Bronze Telly Awards; a Top Marketer Award from the American Marketing Association; three CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) gold awards, and has had two films nominated as CINE Golden Eagle finalists. Matt began his career at Bowling Green State University where he was the creative force behind hundreds of commercials and branded content films. In the last 10 years, he has created and managed two separate in-house production agencies within university marketing-communications offices.
